9-9-09 -- This may be your lucky and long lasting day!

I admit it, I did think about getting married on 9-9-09, just because it sounded cool. But this would have only given my girl and me, like, two weeks to plan. Apparently tens of thousands of (hetero) couples were more on the ball and are registering for marriage today in China today (10,000 in Beijing; 6,000 in Shanghai, etc..).  "The date "nine, nine" sounds like the  saying "jiu,jiu" in Chinese, which can be translated as "long lasting." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8245765.stm
